I hate to be the one who has to nag about college basketball, but isn't anyone concerned about the lack of play?
It might be barely a step up from high school play, yet at least 10 steps below NBA. The play is quite a concern as it seems players are now focused on not listening or paying attention. West Virginia nearly lost a game-at the very least a decent look-against Villanova in the Big East Tourney when WV players didn't call a timeout and Huggins wasn't given a timeout. Instead they had to settle for a 40 foot jump shot...with 3 seconds still left in the game.
College basketball is great for one reason: March Madness. And you know why that's popular: gambling. I have long argued with friends and family that if there was no March Madness, college b-ball would be below hockey in terms of ratings. That's a shame considering how great hockey is to watch.
The discrepeny of talent is unfathomable, and the fact that there are over 200 teams should tell you that. Watch an NBA game and see how crisp everyone is, and how it seems they make the right call far greater than college.
I understand you went to the school, but at least recognize the level of play.
